ARGO MOTH to Orison: 4.8 million aUEC [UPD: route currently unavailable]

Update — 25 September 2026: CIG has temporarily disabled the Orison Relief Salvage missions while it investigates payout issues. The Medium Materials Order used in this guide is currently unavailable, so the 4.8 million aUEC hand-in route cannot be run right now. Do not rent a MOTH or gather Construction Pieces solely for these orders. The steps and payout figures below document how the route worked before the suspension; availability and payout must be checked again if the missions return.

Before the suspension, filling an ARGO MOTH with Construction Pieces provided enough cargo to complete 24 relief orders for 4,800,000 aUEC gross. The tested route used both parts of the ship: 224 SCU on the cargo grid and another 64 SCU left in the salvage buffer. Together, they provided 288 SCU to hand in through "Orison Relief: Medium Materials Order."

Before the suspension, each order took 12 SCU and paid 200,000 aUEC. The documented route below shows how the tested run handled 8 SCU boxes, used the returned cargo, and printed the last of the load.

The order is currently disabled. If CIG restores it, check that it is available under Priority before spending anything. The documented 4.8 million total was calculated from 24 pre-suspension hand-ins at the tested payout. Rental costs, salvage fees, fuel, repairs, and crew shares reduced that gross amount.

If you need help getting the ship working first, start with the ARGO MOTH salvage guide. For the other event contracts and the full reward track, see the Orison Relief Support guide.

Get the ship and choose your salvage work

Historical instructions: The required Medium Materials Order is disabled. Do not rent a MOTH or gather Construction Pieces for this route unless CIG restores the mission and its payout is rechecked.

The pre-suspension route worked with an owned MOTH or a one-day rental. Rental prices were 223,256 or 223,257 aUEC, depending on the kiosk. Vantage Rentals carried the ship at several Stanton stations and gateways, while Teach's Rentals had it at Levski.

Before its suspension, the relief order had no Orison Relief reputation requirement and appeared as "Orison Relief: Medium Materials Order" under Priority.

To fill the ship, take legal Salvage Rights contracts that produce Construction Pieces. Lower-fee contracts will get you there, but filling the whole load takes longer. If you have the Adagio Holdings standing for the 10,000 or 20,000 aUEC contracts, those give you access to larger wrecks. You pay those amounts as claim fees; they are not rewards for completing the salvage work.

Keep the Construction Pieces unrefined. Construction Materials are a different commodity and will not satisfy this order.

Fill the MOTH and take it to Orison

1. Fill the cargo grid, then the buffer

Fracture and disintegrate wrecks, printing Construction Pieces as you go. You need 28 containers of 8 SCU each to fill the MOTH's 224 SCU cargo grid.

Once the grid is full, keep salvaging until you have another 64 SCU in the buffer. Leave that material unprinted. You now have the full 288 SCU aboard, with the last part waiting inside the ship until you make room at Orison.

2. Accept the order before loading the elevator

Fly to Orison and land in a hangar. Open Contract Manager, go to Priority, and accept "Orison Relief: Medium Materials Order."

With the order active, move two 8 SCU boxes onto the freight elevator and press the send-down button. A mission popup should appear showing 12 SCU registered for the order. Confirm the hand-in to lower the elevator and submit the cargo.

Watch for that popup. If the elevator takes the boxes into normal inventory without it, the mission hand-in has not registered.

3. Use the returned 4 SCU for your next order

In the tested route, the first pair of boxes contained 16 SCU, but the mission needed only 12. The unused 4 SCU returned to Orison inventory for the next order.

Once the contract completes, accept the next Medium Materials Order. Bring the returned 4 SCU onto the elevator and pair it with another 8 SCU box from the MOTH. This time, the order uses the full 12 SCU with nothing left over.

That gives you a simple rhythm:

  • Submit 8 + 8 SCU. The order takes 12 SCU and returns 4 SCU.
  • For the next order, submit 4 + 8 SCU. The order takes all 12 SCU.

Before the suspension, the tested orders had no cooldown: the next Medium Materials Order appeared as soon as the previous one completed.

The cargo grid covered 18 orders for 3.6 million aUEC. At that point, the route had used 216 SCU and left one 8 SCU box for the final part of the run.

4. Print the buffer and finish the load

With space on the grid, return to the MOTH and clear the printer's output area. Print the 64 SCU you left in the buffer.

Those eight new boxes, plus the 8 SCU left from the grid, provided another 72 SCU. The tested route used the same alternating hand-ins for six more orders and another 1.2 million aUEC. After the 24th order, the full 288 SCU load was used up.

Historical payout and costs

Load phaseCargo usedOrdersGross payout
Cargo grid216 SCU, with 8 SCU kept for later183,600,000 aUEC
Buffer plus remainder64 + 8 = 72 SCU61,200,000 aUEC
Full MOTH288 SCU, with nothing left244,800,000 aUEC

Before the suspension, completing all 24 orders produced 4.8 million aUEC in gross mission payouts. Net profit was lower after the MOTH rental, salvage-claim fees, fuel, repairs, and any crew shares.

The tested run required a couple of hours, and could take longer when cargo handling or the server slowed down. It included gathering the material, printing and moving the boxes, and completing 24 separate hand-ins. The documented payout was for the whole load, not an hourly rate.

During the tested route, each order awarded 2,208 Orison Relief Support progress points, for 52,992 event points from a full MOTH. These were event points; although Cornerstone Developments supplied the contract, the exact faction-reputation award was not confirmed.

If the hand-in stalls

The freight elevator is where this routine can stop being routine. Start by checking that the Medium Materials Order is active and that pressing send-down produces the mission popup with 12 SCU registered.

If the popup does not appear and the boxes go into normal inventory, bring them back up and try again with the order active. Cycling the elevator sometimes helps, though it is not a consistent fix. Cargo placed on the elevator before you accepted the contract may also fail to register, so accept first, then load or cycle the elevator.

If you confirmed the hand-in but the contract has not completed, give it a few minutes to update before abandoning it or trying to take another order. Moving every box or trying three containers may help with registration problems, but neither method works consistently.

Back aboard the MOTH, keep the printer output clear. A blockage can leave the last 64 SCU stuck in the buffer and stop you from finishing the run.

Check the event before committing to the run

As of 25 September 2026, CIG has temporarily disabled the Orison Relief Salvage missions while it investigates payout issues. This includes "Orison Relief: Medium Materials Order," so this route cannot currently be completed. The announcement does not say that the entire Orison Relief Support event has ended.

If the order returns, check the Priority list and recheck its payout before paying for a rental or salvage claims. Hotfixes can change mission values, cargo behavior, or availability.
