Cargo is missing after a crash

Tracked since 1 Sept 2026 · Last researched 1 Sept 2026

Problem

Cargo is missing from the original ship and no longer available in a retrievable ship state after the ship is destroyed or the game or server crashes.

RSI says there is no direct workaround once the cargo is confirmed lost. Support cannot replace the cargo or reimburse its aUEC value.

Applies to Alpha 4.10.0 LIVE · Current

Current conclusion

No reliable fix is confirmed

There is no supported recovery action for cargo that is already gone from the original ship state. You can report the crash or bug to help CIG investigate it, but that will not return this cargo or its aUEC value.

Diagnostic checks

These checks can identify the affected state, but they are not fixes.

Report the crash or bug to Issue Council

Your report can give CIG current reproduction details for the failure that caused the loss. It is a bug report, not a cargo-recovery request.

What to check

  1. Search Issue Council for the crash or bug that caused the loss.
  2. Contribute current-version reproduction details and evidence to an open matching report, or create a new report if none exists.

Have the crash or bug details and the game version ready so the report describes what actually happened. Searching and documenting the incident takes time, and filing the report will not restore your cargo or aUEC.

Limited SupportLow riskRSI continues to direct players to Issue Council during Alpha 4.10.x LIVE, but no exact cargo-loss hotfix or recovery date is published.

What not to try

Do not expect Support to replace the cargo or aUEC

ContradictedLow risk

RSI says Support cannot recover cargo lost after a crash and cannot manually restore the aUEC value. A recovery request has no available restoration path.

Do not run Character Repair for lost cargo

ContradictedHigh risk

RSI explicitly says Character Repair cannot resolve lost cargo. Missing items remain lost after the repair.

Boundaries and evidence

This page covers confirmed cargo loss. If the original cargo-bearing ship is still shown as Stored with a Retrieve option, or missing boxes later return to inventory, the cargo is not yet confirmed lost and you are dealing with a different state.

RSI's cargo-loss article was updated in 2026 but does not name the exact Alpha 4.10 hotfix affected.

No current Alpha 4.10 execution was found that restored cargo already confirmed lost after a crash.

Historical reports about retrieving an original stored ship apply before cargo loss is confirmed and were not validated in Alpha 4.10.

The exact Issue Council history, failure rate, affected hotfix, and fix date were not publicly available.

We did not reproduce the loss or test any recovery ourselves.
