Problem
After quantum travel, your Ironclad's cargo body can disappear or become unreachable, leaving you unable to get back to the cargo.
This page covers recovery of the parent body and its cargo, not a stored ship, missing component or paint, confirmed crash loss, or a Command Module disconnect without body loss.

Current conclusion
Current evidence does not support a reliable recovery method. Same-shard re-entry is only a limited fallback; Alt-F4 is not recommended.
Other options
Before claiming, try to return to the original shard
This may let you check whether the body is still in the original session. A known friend means someone already in that shard. It is not a confirmed fix.
What to try
- Do not claim the Ironclad immediately.
- Try a known-friend or same-shard re-entry if available.
- Check whether the body returns before changing its state.
What not to try
Do not rely on Alt-F4 as dependable recovery
The only observed success predates Alpha 4.9 LIVE. In current Alpha 4.9, Alt-F4 can put you in another shard and leave the ship or cargo inaccessible, so it is not a dependable Ironclad recovery.
