Quantum route disappears immediately after setting
Tracked since 20 Sept 2026 · Last researched 20 Sept 2026
Problem
You select a quantum destination in the starmap, see the route appear for less than a second, and then it disappears before you can engage the drive.
Star Citizen 4.10.1 changed related route plotting around obstructed paths and stations, but those fixes do not name this exact route-clearing behavior.

Current conclusion
No reliable fix is confirmed
No recovery is confirmed for this exact behavior on Star Citizen 4.10.1. Repeatedly pressing R is the only low-impact fallback with success reports for the same symptom, but it also failed for the original reporter.
Other options
Retry the route with R
Two players in the exact discussion said repeated R eventually held the route, including one reply posted after 4.10.0 went LIVE. The original reporter tried for more than a minute without success, and no result is confirmed for 4.10.1.
Steps
- Press R repeatedly after selecting the destination.
What's not worth trying
Do not rely on a short jump to reset this route
Players reported that this helped other route failures, but the exact reporter had already tried both completing and cutting another jump without success.

Build status
Star Citizen 4.10.1 fixed related cases where the starmap could not plot around an obstruction or from inside a station to a destination on its far side. It is not confirmed as a fix for a route that briefly appears and clears itself.

Boundaries and evidence
Use this page only when a route briefly appears and then clears. A Route button that never responds, an obstructed route that never appears, or a route that stays set while the quantum drive refuses to engage is a different problem.
It is not known whether this exact behavior still occurs on Star Citizen 4.10.1, and no recovery has been confirmed for that build.
The exact player discussion does not name its original game build, ship, location, or hardware setup.
The most recent matching success reply was posted during the 4.10.0 LIVE window but did not name its build.
The official 4.10.1 Known Issues page does not list this exact behavior, but that page does not cover every issue.
