Arena Commander cannot enter any game mode

Problem
Arena Commander can become unable to enter any game mode after you select a control other than Deploy.
CIG still lists this interface bug for Alpha 4.9.x LIVE. Arena Commander service status is operational, so this page does not describe a broad outage.

Leave Arena Commander and open it again
Leave Arena Commander and open it again. On the fresh interface, do not select anything else; select Deploy once.
CIG says the stuck state remains until you leave and re-enter the interface, and that using only Deploy avoids immediately triggering it again.
What to do
- Leave the Arena Commander interface.
- Re-enter Arena Commander from the main menu.
- On the fresh interface, do not select any other UI element.
- Select Deploy once.
Use this after the Arena Commander interface is already unable to enter any mode. Leaving interrupts the current menu attempt, but the procedure does not intentionally change account, character, or ship data.
