Problem
Error 60029 - Shard Locked blocks entry to the Persistent Universe while your character remains stuck on a shard.
Use this guidance only for Error 60029. Other login, reconnect, and spawn errors need a different recovery path.

Run Character Repair for Error 60029
Exit Star Citizen and the RSI Launcher, run Character Repair, and stay offline for at least one hour before trying again. If Error 60029 remains, contact RSI Support.
CIG recommends this path when Error 60029 says your character is still connected to a shard.
What to do
- Confirm the displayed error is 60029 - Shard Locked.
- Exit both Star Citizen and the RSI Launcher.
- Start Character Repair from the RSI account settings page.
- Do not interact with the account while repair is processing.
- Remain offline for at least one hour before launching again.
- If the lock persists, gather game information and contact RSI Support.
Character Repair is a last-resort, irreversible avatar-data operation that temporarily locks you out of the game.
