Workaround
Hull-A retrieval fails with cargo spindles extended
Tracked since 20 Aug 2026 · Last researched 20 Aug 2026
Problem
A Hull-A can return from storage with its cargo spindles partially extended and no interaction options, so the ship cannot be used in Alpha 4.9.x LIVE.
This is the Hull-A storage-and-retrieval state, not a generic ship-retrieval failure or a Hull-C spindle issue.
Applies to Alpha 4.9.x LIVE · Current
Best current action
Fully retract the spindles before storing
Store the Hull-A only after its cargo spindles are fully retracted.
This is the only current Hull-A-specific guidance. It is preventive only; no supported recovery is established after failure.
What to do
- Fully retract the Hull-A cargo spindles.
- Store the ship only after the spindles are fully retracted.
No independent player success has been established.
What not to try
Hull-C and generic spindle procedures
Do not spend time applying Hull-C or general cargo-spindle procedures; they do not provide an incident-specific Hull-A recovery.
