Refined ore sale fails when using Max
Tracked since 21 Aug 2026 · Last researched 21 Aug 2026
Problem
Refined ore can fail to sell when you press Max at a commodity terminal in Alpha 4.9.x LIVE, especially from the hangar path.
Use this for refined-ore quantity-selection failures when the destination accepts the material, not ROC minerals or freight-elevator delivery.

Select SCU amounts instead of Max
Select a displayed SCU amount instead of Max. If it still fails, stop for that material and terminal.
This leaves the cargo and selling path unchanged, making it the least disruptive current option.
What to do
- Open the refined-ore selling entry.
- Select a displayed SCU box-size amount manually.
- Avoid the Max button for that sale attempt.
No independent reproduction establishes this across every quantity, material, or terminal.
Other options
Sell refined ore from the ship
Try the ship-linked sale path if manual SCU selection does not work. It avoids the hangar route associated with the error.
Steps
- Load or retain the refined ore in the ship-linked selling path.
- At a destination that accepts the material, use the commodity-selling interface without selecting the hangar Max path.
- If the sale still fails, stop for that material and terminal.
Its success is not established across ships, materials, or terminals.
Separate stacked ore through the hangar elevator
Use this only when the refined ore is stacked and the simpler quantity choice has not helped. It may change the stacked presentation before the retry.
Steps
- Bring the refined ore up through the hangar elevator.
- Send it back down through the elevator.
- Retry the sale after the inventory presentation changes.
This is more invasive, with unresolved elevator and material scope.
