Workaround

ROC mining arm does not move after entering mining mode

Tracked since 21 Aug 2026 · Last researched 21 Aug 2026

Problem

The Greycat ROC mining arm does not move after entering mining mode in Alpha 4.9.x LIVE.

This is the arm-control state, not the separate problem where successfully mined ROC gems or minerals cannot be sold.

Applies to Alpha 4.9.x LIVE · Current

Best current action

Target a minable rock, then press G

Try this first.

It takes seconds and does not interrupt mining.

What to do

  1. Enter the ROC mining mode.
  2. Target a highlighted minable rock.
  3. Press G to enter gimbal mode and check whether the arm moves.

Current results are mixed, with no independent reproduction or repeatability established.

Limited SupportLow riskAlpha 4.9.x LIVE current mixed community results; exact hotfix unresolved

Other options

Cycle ROC power and mining mode

Use this only if target-plus-G fails; it takes longer because it interrupts mining.

Steps

  1. Exit ROC mining mode.
  2. Turn the ROC off and on.
  3. Re-enter mining mode and check the arm.

The current sequence is not isolated, and the other positive report is historical.

Moderate SupportLow riskAlpha 4.9.x current mixed-sequence report; historical support also present; exact hotfix unresolved

What not to try

Change gimbal or tracking modes

ContradictedLow risk

Do not spend time cycling gimbal, tracking, free-look, or head-tracking modes first. In the current failure state, those changes left the arm static.
