Refinery job fails with Error 18 when refined Torite is stored

Problem
A refinery job can fail with Error 18 when already-refined Torite is still in that station's local inventory and you try to start another job. In affected cases, the terminal may list Torite without the Raw label even though the new load is unrefined ore.
Alpha 4.10.1 is the current LIVE release. The latest exact report that this recovery worked was on September 11 in Alpha 4.10.0, so it is the strongest action available but has not yet been confirmed on the new point release.

Move every refined Torite crate out of station storage
Call all refined Torite up on the freight elevator, leave it physically raised, and retry the refinery job. Players have reported this working repeatedly through Alpha 4.10.0, but there is no exact Alpha 4.10.1 result yet.
Several players cleared Error 18 after removing refined Torite from the station's virtual inventory. One exact success was reported under Alpha 4.10.0, while the new Alpha 4.10.1 build has not yet been tested for this incident.
What to do
- Go to the hangar freight elevator at the same station.
- Call up every refined Torite crate from station local inventory.
- Leave the crates physically raised on the hangar floor instead of sending them back into storage.
- Return to the refinery terminal and retry the job.
You need working access to that station's freight elevator and enough room to call up every refined Torite crate. Keep the Torite physically raised while you retry. It will need to be secured or moved again afterward.

Put the refined Torite inside a StorAll box
If you have a StorAll box with enough room and want to keep the Torite in station inventory
Nesting the Torite inside a StorAll box can keep it out of the refinery terminal's material list without moving it out of station inventory. A completed refinery retry has not been confirmed, so treat this only as an unverified fallback.
Steps
- Open the station inventory that contains the refined Torite.
- Put every refined Torite crate into a StorAll box.
- Retry the refinery terminal while the Torite remains inside the box.
You need a StorAll box with enough capacity for every refined Torite crate.
What's not worth trying
Do not move the ore pods onto a stored ship just to clear Error 18
Results conflict. Some players started the job from a stored ship, while others reported that their ore disappeared or became inert after moving or storing the pods. That possible loss outweighs this route's uncertain benefit.
Boundaries and evidence
Use this page only when refined Torite remains in the same station's inventory or appears unexpectedly in the refinery material list. Error 18 with Structural Wreckage, empty Construction Salvage crates, or no stored refined Torite may be a different problem.
Alpha 4.10.1 LIVE.12660092 deployed less than a day before this check, and no exact refined-Torite reproduction or recovery result was available for that build.
RSI does not list refinery Error 18 or Torite on the Alpha 4.10.1 Known Issues page. That omission does not confirm a fix and does not provide an official workaround.
Error 18 can appear with other materials and inventory states, so removing refined Torite is not a general fix for every Error 18 case.
The public Issue Council report could not be inspected, leaving its affected builds, reproduction history, and any planned fix unavailable.
A refinery job that fails with ore on a properly stored ship but no Error 18 is the separate stored-ship refinery work-order problem.
