Return quantum marker disappears after respawn
Tracked since 22 Sept 2026 · Last researched 22 Sept 2026
Problem
The return quantum marker can disappear after your ship is destroyed in a collision and you respawn elsewhere. When that happens, the previous scene is no longer available as a quantum destination.
The only exact report found did not identify the marker type or try a recovery, so there is no confirmed universal fix.
Applies to Alpha 4.10.1-LIVE.12660092 (current LIVE; the exact incident report does not name its build or channel) · Unknown
Current conclusion
No universal fix is confirmed
If nobody you know is still at the scene, there is no confirmed way to restore the missing quantum marker or quantum back. If a friend or party member stayed there and remains visible in the starmap, you can route to that player instead.

Route to the player who stayed at the scene
Star Citizen supports selecting a visible friend or party member in the starmap and routing to them. This can give you a destination at the lost scene without restoring the missing return marker.
What to do
- Open mobiGlas and select the Maps app.
- Select the friend or party member who is already at the location you need to return to.
- Choose Route to this Location, switch the ship to NAV and QT mode, calibrate, and engage quantum travel.
A friend or party member must still be at the scene and selectable in the starmap.
Diagnostic checks
These checks can identify the affected state, but they are not fixes.
Report the exact marker failure
CIG directs players to search the Issue Council, add the current game version, reproduction details, and evidence to a matching report, or create a report when none exists.
What to check
- Search the Star Citizen Issue Council for the same post-respawn missing-marker incident.
- If a matching open report exists, contribute the current LIVE build, collision and respawn sequence, marker type if known, and every attempted workaround.
- If no matching report exists, create a new report with reproducible steps and supporting evidence.
What's not worth trying
Do not rely on restarting or force-closing
No matching report shows that restarting restores this post-respawn marker. In an Alpha 4.1.1 report about a missing ship marker, Alt-F4 did not bring the marker back.
Boundaries and evidence
This page covers a marker for the previous scene disappearing after collision and respawn. The report does not establish whether that marker represented a wreck, ship, mission objective, body, or another target.
Only one uncontrolled player report matched the collision, respawn, missing marker, and inability-to-return sequence.
The report did not name its build, channel, marker type, ship, mission, location, party state, or any attempted recovery.
No exact Alpha 4.10.1 success, failure, reproduction, or independent confirmation was found.
If your issue is an interior QV Breaker objective marker, see QV Breaker mission target marker missing instead.
If the destination remains visible but quantum travel will not start, see quantum drive engagement fails.
If a newly selected route clears from the starmap, see quantum route not setting.
