Inventory items are missing after a patch

Problem
After your first login following a patch, some inventory items may be missing or your inventory may no longer match what you had before the update.
CIG still lists this problem for Alpha 4.10.x LIVE. The loss can affect only a few items gained near the end of the previous patch, or it can be much more extensive.

No dependable recovery is supported for broad post-patch inventory loss in Alpha 4.10.x. Record what disappeared and report it to Issue Council STARC-194626. Do not use Character Repair to try to bring the items back; CIG says items already missing when the repair starts will remain lost.

CIG asks affected players to add detailed reports so its teams can investigate the cause. This is the current official next step, but it will not restore your inventory.
What to check
- Identify what is missing and when you first noticed the inventory discrepancy after the patch.
- Add the relevant details to Issue Council report STARC-194626.
- If any items later return or the state changes, add that recovery information to the report.
Before reporting, note which items disappeared and when you first saw the change. RSI Support cannot restore individually lost items or equipment.
What's not worth trying
Do not use Character Repair to recover these items
CIG says equipment and items already missing when Character Repair begins will remain lost. The repair is a last-resort tool for character faults, cannot be stopped or reversed once started, and does not recover this inventory loss.

This page covers broad inventory loss first noticed after a patch. A held item missing after logout, pledge items that were never attributed, items replaced with fire extinguishers, loot-window armor-swap losses, and inventory that only fails to display are different problems.
No current Alpha 4.10.x player report was found that tested this exact first-login post-patch loss and recovered the missing items.
The exact affected hotfix, item types, and failure rate are not known. STARC-194626's public details were unavailable, so its current status and player reports could not be checked directly.
Reports of items returning after a relog or appearing at an old residence involved different inventory states, so they do not establish a fix for this one.
